Thought some of you might enjoy this little gem of a posting from another "synth discussion board".

QUOTE:
Who the **** are you then? I own neither, but was expected to sell BOTH, and through messing around on them came to my own conclusions about which had the nicer sounds out of the box. It's a simple FACT that T2 has more realistic and pleasant acoustic instrument sounds, and a simple FACT that the PA1X excels as a synthesizer and does many things the T2 will not with regard to creating new sounds. Horses for courses. Both were really aimed at old men still refusing to believe the Electone was dead, and wanting to play their old swing and jazz shit on the most expensive thing they could blow their retirement funds on. I've had company REPS tell me that much. Doesn't matter as long as they sell.

The irony of this, of course, is we're all getting to be a bit on the elderly side, and for that I'm very thankful. Those who make statements such as those quoted from another forum usually don't live long enough to become old, also for which I'm very thankful. The world would be a lot better off without these inconsiderate individuals that express their opinions in this manner. I'm also thankful that Nigel can send such individuals into never-never land, from which they cannot return.

Cheers from an old man,

Gary

As another one of the "old men" (67) I also am thankful that I found THIS forum, which has given me -- a "retread musician" much pleasure and good information via a (usually) civil, if sometimes very critical, bunch of other interesting dudes, including the aged and aging. The board I posted from is all too indicative of the kind of diatribe one finds all over the place on the 'net. Makes one leave a place rather quickly.

PS: before he left this world, my Dad had an Electone -- I wasn't willed the instrument so I never got to play it much. Good thing for me, huh?

I hate to think what he would think of my choice of music a lot of it prejaz and swing.
Things my dad sang to me with me sitting on his knee.
